THE COMPANY
NSW Engineering has successfully operated within the North West for the past 6 years. In that time the Company has developed and expanded its range of services, which many leading building and civil contractors cannot offer.
The Company has good working relationships with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors and most importantly, with clients, which has resulted in repeat business. Our scope of work covers Traditional Contracting to Design and Build and Development of our own schemes.
Based in South Warrington, our Head Office has easy access to the M56/M6 motorways, with the majority of our labour force based locally.
We have found our professionalism has proved beneficial when we are assessing schemes for private properties, which today demands a high level of input from the planning stage through to final construction.
Our Projects range in value from £25,000 - £3,000,000 involving Design (if required), Supervision, Labour, Temporary and Permanent Materials.

KEY PERSONNEL
Nigel S Warburton founded the Company in 2000 and has in excess of 20 years experience in the building and civil engineering sector working with large contractors and developers.
Nigel is supported by his Contracts Director, Stefan A Wieczorek, who since graduating in 1980 has spent his time within construction, working at all levels of senior management.
An administration and clerical team is based in our Head Office in Latchford, South Warrington from which we estimate and plan each project or scheme.
The Company is proud to record that we employ our own labour force consisting of machine drivers, ground workers, joiners, bricklayers, plumbers, plasterers, and electricians. This gives us the confidence to offer a wider scope of services not always available from many of our larger competitors.
SERVICES
DESIGN AND BUILD
NSW Engineering has established good working partnerships with Structural Designers and Architects. In this respect the company provides full Design and Build solutions for its clients ranging from foundations through to final finishings.
In addition the company has in depth experience in progressing planning permissions with local authorities.
CIVIL ENGINEERING/BUILDING WORK
NSWs Senior Managers have over 50 years experience in the Building and Civil Engineering sectors. The company is capable of carrying out all aspects of Ground works/Temporary works/Drainage and Reinforced Concrete requirements.
With respect to Building work the company carries its own Labour Force of bricklayers, joiners, plasterers and plumbers. With the support of our Architects and Designers we have the experience to complete complex schemes tailored to meet our client’s requirements.
DEVELOPMENT
NSW has successfully completed several private developments which have involved new build with the use of existing properties such as schools and churches. We are able to offer a wide range of services in respect of small to medium sized schemes for Landowners’/ Developers.
REMEDIATION
The company has an in depth knowledge of Remediation methods which today requires specific attention to detail to satisfy the demands of environmental legislation. The handling of contaminated/unsuitable ground conditions can be very expensive if left to the untrained operator. NSW's philosophy is that money can be saved if a simple experienced approach is adopted to deal with these matters.
RENOVATION
The company has recently carried out extensive work to large properties with planning restrictions. These works have involved maintaining existing facades with the need to strengthen the building with structural members.
There has been the need to purchase specific materials with numerous trials required for brickwork, roofing, chimneys and other finishing requirements.
These buildings have required substantial internal modifications in respect of floor layout, removal of structural walls and installation of service ducting. These contracts require attentions to detail and the need to be able to react quickly to accomadate the client’s requirements.

ENVIROMENTAL PROTECTION POLICY STATEMENT

We are very conscious of the need to protect the Environment and Ecosystems from any permanent damage as a result of our operations.

Accordingly it is our Policy to pre-consider the affects our operations will have on the Environment prior to the commencement of our works. Risk Assessments will be carried out and the Preventive and Protective measures evolved and implemented to reduce the impact to the most practicable levels possible.

These Risk Assessments will be based on, and comply with, current Legislation and other Guidance Publications, as a minimum. Wherever we believe that the Legislation may not satisfy the specific requirements of the operations we are assessing, we will reflect our reservations in the more detailed Preventive and Protective Measures.

We believe that a sensitive and good Management approach to these matters will reduce the impact of our operations on the Environment to the benefit of everyone in the neighbourhood of our works. The very nature of Construction Operations inevitably creates dust, noise, waste, gaseous emissions, water and silt etc., all of which need to be assessed and controlled.

We will abide by The Montreal Protocol whereby we will not use, or allow to be used; any of the prohibited substances listed therein which damage the upper atmosphere or ozone layer.

The Site Manager, Agent, Foreman or whoever is the most Senior Supervisor on site will implement this policy in conjunction with more Senior Management. Transfer of waste will be handed over to a registered carrier on production of a copy of his carrier’s licence and checking its expiry date. Special wastes will be stored in duly marked containers and the waste disposal contractor’s licence will be checked to ensure that the contractor is licensed to remove the special type of waste involved (e.g. asbestos). The licence of the disposal site or tip will also be checked to ensure the tip site is licensed to receive these special wastes and that the licence is current.

This policy will be reviewed annually or whenever new legislation so dictates. The Senior Site Manager will take a pro-active approach in ensuring that Environmental impact is minimised during our works and that permanent damage does not occur.

All our operatives will be made aware of this policy at their induction's and training on commencement of their employment and with subsequent Tool-Box-Talks.
